It doesn’t matter if you’re an adult or a kid – no road trip is complete without enough snacks! However, it can be dangerous to eat certain snacks while you’re driving. Here’s a list of road trip snacks you can eat safely while you’re on the road!

1. Cheez-its

Cheez-its are one of the best-loved snacks of all. They come in so many different types: Parmesan, Grooves, Hot & Spicy, Whole Grain…the list goes on forever. There’s something for everyone! Plus, because they’re so bite-sized, they’re easy to grab without taking your eyes or hands off the road. The only downside is the crumbs, but a few crumbs won’t ruin a trip!

2. Combos

These are by far one of the best snacks for the road. They’re little morsels of pretzel or cracker outside, with a flavored filling. Combos come in so many different flavors, including peanut butter, honey sriracha, pizza, cheese, and so many more – there’s something for everyone!

3. Pretzels

There’s a reason pretzels are one of America’s best-loved snacks. Because they’re so versatile and come in so many different varieties, pretzels are a great option to take on the road. One of our favorite varieties is peanut butter filled pretzel nuggets; they’re bite-size and crunchy, and the sweetness of the peanut butter is a nice surprise! The crunch and saltiness can help keep you awake, too. That makes pretzels a perfect road trip snack!

4. Beef Jerky

Beef jerky is perhaps one of the most classic road trip snacks. Whether you’re more of a Slim Jim fan or a Jack Links fan, beef jerky is a constant winner. Plus, with little to no residue, there’s nothing to keep you from eating them in the car!

5. Dried Fruit

If you’re looking for a healthier option than those listed here, dried fruit is another wonderful road trip snack. Most dried fruit doesn’t contain preservatives, so you’re able to snack without having to worry about what else may be in your food. Additionally, dried fruit doesn’t usually make a lot of crumbs, so you won’t have to vacuum your floorboards after your trip.

No matter what you’re snacking on, don’t let it distract you from the road ahead. However, some snacks can keep you awake, so as long as they’re not taking you away from the task at hand, snack away!

Here at Horizon Transport, our priority is the safety of our drivers. We wish you safe travels, and happy snacking!
